Books from the Crow StoreThe books listed here are individual copies of books about crows. Most are used and out of print. All are in reasonably good condition with any specific defects noted in the book descriptions. Please note that we are selling these books for persons interested in learning about crows, not as collector's items. All prices include shipping by U.S. Mail within the continental United States. Crows of the World by Derek Goodwin, Illustrations by Roger Gillmore. (First Edition, 1976) 354 pages, 3 color plates, many line drawings. This is the authoritive textbook on the crow family. If you are interested in studying crows, this is a "must have" book. Chapters include: Nomenclature, Adaptive Radiation, Plumage and Coloration, Behavior, and The Crow Family. This hard cover copy is in very good condition. The back of the dust jacket has been torn and mended and shows a bit of wear. A previous owner's name and "1979" appear on the flyleaf. PRICE: $40.00 (postage included). Blacky the Crow by Thornton W. Burgess, Illustrations by Harrison Cady. (206 pages, 4 black & white illustrations. ) This is a children's book first published in 1922. The copy listed here is an undated war time edition in good condition, with some scuffing on the cover and pencil marks on the front endpapers. It relates the adventures of Blacky the Crow in the "Green Forest" complete with moral lessons drawn from his behavior. Relatively rare. PRICE: $20.00 (postage included) The Crows of Pearblossom by Aldous Huxley, Illustrated by Barbara Cooney. (Weekly Reader Edition, 1967). Huxley's only children's story. It is a short illustrated tale of the crows dealing with a snake who steals their eggs. This hardcover copy is in good condition other than a scuff at the top right of the front cover where, presumably a price sticker was removed. Out of Print and hard to find. PRICE: $12.00 (postage included). Black Wings: The Unbeatable Crow by Joseph Wharton Lippincott, Illustrated by Lynn Bogue Hunt. (First Edition, 1947). 144 pages. The best of the "adventures of a crow" books. A fictional account for readers of all ages. All of the experiences of "Caw-Caw" are drawn from the author's observations of crows over a number of years. This copy is in excellent condition. The dust jacket shows a bit of wear at the spine and shelf marking on the back. PRICE: $35.00 (postage included). (This section will be added to on a continuing basis.
